Our volunteers play an important role in all phases of the wish granting process: from working in child-focused wish-granting teams; to solicitation of goods and services that meet the needs of specific wishes; to assisting at special events & fundraisers! It is thanks to the generosity of our volunteers that we are able to fulfill many wonderful wishes.

To get started today, attend a New Volunteer Training & Orientation in your area.
- What to bring with you: Print, complete, and bring your new volunteer paperwork and 2 donated gift cards* ($25 minimum value for each) with you to the training you attend.
- *These items are to be used as “warm-up gifts” for the Wish interviews or for our auctions to raise money for granting wishes! You will have a jump start on the application process if you can bring your 2 items along with your paperwork to the orientation. Upon request we can send a letter that you may use as a tool if you feel comfortable visiting stores, speaking to a manager, and asking for a donation to Make-A-Wish - that way you don't actually have to purchase the two $25 gift cards yourself. Some new volunteers will just go ahead and buy two gift cards to any store and be done with it. It's completely up to you!

Background Check: After attending a new volunteer training and turning in all relevant paperwork, we will send you the link to complete your background check for our Chapter, estimated cost $24.99 (see: Why do I need a Background Check?)
